Christina Brandt, Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Brandt has been CEO of AtWork! since August of 2006.  She is leading the organization through an evolutionary transformation to change the way people with significant disabilities get and retain real jobs.  Her career includes thirty years of experience working on behalf of people with disabilities, low income families, and people experiencing homelessness.

 Ms. Brandt is Vice President of the Board for the Community Employment Alliance, a non-profit advocacy organization with a membership network of businesses and employment service providers in the State of Washington. She is spearheading a group of employment providers and King County staff working to create a common set of measurable outcomes.  She is also a member of a state rate structure committee advising the Department of Developmental Disabilities about legislative direction and policy. Ms. Brandt is a member of the Issaquah Kiwanis Club and chairs the Community Services Committee and the Aktion Club Committee.

 Prior to joining AtWork! Ms. Brandt served as Vice President of Operations for Volunteers of America Western Washington, overseeing a $18 million budget.  She was also instrumental in the development of Snohomish County’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness which has received national attention as a best practice model.  From 1998 to 2003 Ms. Brandt served as the Chief Operations Officer for AtWork! and managed human resources, crew services, and general operations for the Bellevue and Kenmore facilities.  She was heavily involved in the negotiations that led to the merger of Custom Industries and Community Enterprises of Issaquah to become AtWork! in 1998.

Bob Thompson, Chief Operations Officer

Bob Thompson joined AtWork! as CFO in 2005. In 2010 Mr. Thompson became Chief Operations Officer. He brings over 30 years of business experience and expertise to his role. His responsibilities include Financial Administration, IT services, safety and facilities. He is a CPA and his background includes experience as Controller/CFO of small privately owned manufacturing, retail and wholesale businesses. He has served on the boards of the Scan Design Foundation and the Northwest Danish Foundation.

Lisa Fox, Director of Employment Services

Lisa joined the AtWork! team in March 2011 as the Director of Employment Services. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lisa received her BA in Speech Communication, with an emphasis in marketing, from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana.

In 1995 Lisa was inspired by a co-worker with a developmental disability to make a career move from Microsoft to the Eastside Employment Services. Her most recent position was Program Manager for the Seattle Children's Project SEARCH program, and her professional focus for the last 16 years has been to contribute to quality employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities in private and public companies.

Lisa is Past President of the University District Rotary Club, Past Board Chair for VSA Arts of Washington-Art programs for students and adults with disabilities, and she is currently serving on the advisory board for the Arc of King County's Family Support 360 program. She has provided training and consultation at the local, state, and national levels, and she is a visionary leader with experience in marketing, public speaking, leadership, management, training, and facilitation. Lisa believes that AtWork! is an agency with a heart and soul, that all members of the staff bring heart-felt dedication to their work.

Wendy Randall, Director Career Development Services

Wendy Randall discovered her passion for working with people with developmental disabilities in 1983 through a volunteering opportunity, and has been involved in service to them ever since. Upon leaving an employment focus of for-profit financial management, Wendy concentrated on developing community inclusion and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. She joined AtWork! in 1989 and has devoted her efforts ever since towards creating community employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Karen Walters, Director of Human Resources

Karen joined AtWork! in January 2011.  She most recently served as the CEO of the Washington State Business Leadership Network (WSBLN). The WSBLN is an organization of businesses, employers and community partners who support and educate other businesses to recruit, hire, retain, promote and increase customer service for people with disabilities. Prior to her work with WSBLN, Karen worked as a Human Resources Specialist for QFC and Human Resources Coordinator for Fred Meyer. Karen has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington and Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) Certification. Karen is currently serving as a Board Member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Washington, as a member of the OLS Venture's Advisory Council and is a member of the Tacoma Goodwill's Business Advisory Council, the Northwest ADA Center Washington Advisory Council and the MS Society's Workforce Taskforce.

Andrea Simmonds, Director of Development

Andrea joined At Work! in May 2011. Andrea has a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from Pacific Lutheran University, and has spent the last 6-1/2 years as a one-person development department for a large community mental health organization. She discovered a passion for employment for people with disabilties while working with that organization's member-run pre-vocational clubhouse program, watching people who had been told they could never work find jobs and succeed in them. Andrea has extensive experience with grantwriting and event planning, and has a background in healthcare marketing.
